Collage in progress

This a work in progress. We learned about putting together layers of material and keep on working something until we felt it was done and not feel some parts were too precious to cover up.

This reminds me of making altered books with kids in my English classes and telling them that they were like archeological layers, that if you didn't like something you simply pasted over it.

I love the idea of receiving regular postcards Sylvia. What a wonderful collection you must have now.

archeological layers - that's a cool way at looking at collage.

Sylvia - please post a picture of the collage when it is completed - I would love to see the finished product.

I will go and check for a picture of the finished collage. I do have an album at Web Shots with more pictures of this workshop.

It is sometimes difficult to cover over a picture but in the end, the work may be better if it is kept with less instead of too much stuff.
